Now that I’ve got some spare time, here is this week’s edition of the Weekly Update.

For $200,000 dollars, you could be flying off to a galaxy (not so) far away with Virgin Galactic – a cheap, commercial space travel proposition by Richard Branson. While the price tag certainly isn’t cheap, around 300 people have already made bookings including X-men director Bryan Singer and Stephen Hawking. It doesn’t seem like you’ll need full-on astronaut training, just three days of it.

There’s always new Star Wars stuff coming out. From the Clone Wars animated TV series to the upcoming Old Republic MMO; but there might even be a new Star Wars movie on the horizon. I personally like Star Wars and I’m all for a new movie. I don’t know which direction it should take though – past or future. I never paid much attention to the story when I played Knights of the Old Republic as I was too busy killing anything that moved, nor do I read the New Jedi Order series. If you ask me I wouldn’t mind a setting in the past or the future.

In other movie news, Paul Greengrass, who directed both The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, has officially departed from the production of Bourne 4. The director states that he’s looking for a different challenge, but it seems that the real reason has something to do with disagreements with Universal Studios. Unfortunately for us, Matt Damon himself has stated there will be no fourth installment without Mr. Greengrass. Of course, this is all subject to change but if there will still be a fourth movie, it’s likely to be directed by someone else.

If you’re not familiar with the 1982 movie TRON, just know that a sequel is in production and a really cool teaser trailer for it has been out for awhile now. Just this week, a new photo and poster were released by Disney. The movie is set to release about a year from now on December 17, 2010. I’ve seen the original and it was pretty awesome for 1980’s standards. After seeing the teaser trailer and having 28 years of technological improvement backing it up, Tron Legacy is something you won’t want to miss next year.

In celebration of their 20th birthday, Empire Magazine has debuted a gallery featuring some of the most memorable movie moments along with the stars attached to those movies. Among those featured are American Psycho, 300, Minority Report, Shaun of the Dead, etc. See if you can identify the movie associated with each photo.

Kanye ‘Interrupter’ West has been named the King of Fail by FAILblog. Kanye’s VMA interrupt was hilarious and I’m guilty of making a few Kanye joke pics of my own including one for my friend’s birthday. I don’t listen to Kanye West but I do think 30 Seconds To Mar’s song Hurricane (from their latest album This Is War) would’ve been better without his singing. Interestingly enough my random playlist decided to play Hurricane just as I started writing this paragraph.

This week I had the opportunity to watch Zombieland and it was definitely one of the most hilarious movies I’ve seen all year. Full review can be found here. Next week I’m planning to catch James Cameron’s Avatar, which at the time of writing has a Metacritic score of 89 and a Fresh rating of 90% on Rottentomatoes. Looks like it’s easily living up to the hype.

If you like your music loud, you might find your future MP3 players softer than usual as the EU is imposing a volume limit on such devices. The reason behind the limit is due to the number of people who suffered permanent hearing loss due to listening to loud music for prolonged periods of time. I’m not the type to take my iPod out when I have to walk somewhere, but if you are then you might wanna watch your volume.

Last but not least, straight from Spike TV’s Video Game Awards is the new trailer for the next installment of the Halo franchise – Halo Reach, set to Fall in 2010.

That is all for this week. Here is a song from 30 Seconds To Mar’s new album, which I believe should be their next single.
